In a compelling show of youth leadership and purpose-driven service, the Rotaract Clubs of Baras, Metro East Taytay, Ortigas Center, and Rizal Centro have launched Project KKK — a multi-sectoral initiative focused on Kalikasan (Environment), Karunungan (Knowledge), and Kababaihan (Women).

Combining environmental advocacy, education, and women’s health into one strategic movement, Project KKK is designed to create a deep, lasting impact in underserved communities — not just through outreach, but through empowerment.

A Three-Pillar Approach to Sustainable Development

The program begins with a tree planting activity that aims to restore degraded land and promote long-term environmental resilience. With climate concerns rising across the Philippines, this effort aligns with Rotary’s commitment to sustainability and environmental protection.

Next is a seminar on Artificial Intelligence — a bold move to bridge the digital divide by educating young people and community members on emerging technologies, innovation, and the future of work. The seminar is a step toward making tech knowledge more accessible and relevant to grassroots communities.

Finally, the heart of the program focuses on women and families. A free OB-Gyne medical mission is being conducted to provide crucial health services, particularly for mothers and children in remote or low-income areas. The mission includes consultations, screenings, and education on disease prevention — a vital service in regions where healthcare is often out of reach.

Beyond Projects — A Movement for Change

“Project KKK isn’t just a list of activities. It’s a movement built on compassion, action, and collaboration,” said one of the lead organizers. “We’re not here to deliver aid from a distance. We’re here to listen, to learn, and to stand side by side with the people we serve.”

Project KKK aligns with four of Rotary International’s Seven Areas of Focus:

  • Supporting the Environment

  • Basic Education and Literacy

  • Maternal and Child Health

  • Disease Prevention and Treatment

This integrated approach allows the Rotaract Clubs to address multiple layers of community needs at once — from ecological restoration to digital learning and public health.

A Call for Partnerships and Support

The Rotaract Clubs are actively inviting individuals, groups, NGOs, and businesses to take part in the initiative. Whether through donations, in-kind support, volunteerism, or collaboration, every contribution helps scale the program and reach more communities in need.

“This is the kind of impact we need today — action rooted in empathy, leadership guided by service, and young people leading the way,” the organizers said. “We hope others will join us in this mission.”
